Adult literacy research program

NCVER has managed the Adult Literacy Research Program (ALRP), with funding provided through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations since 2002. Funding for the ALRP ceased in March 2007.

The program funded research in adult literacy and numeracy and was linked to the overall strategy for VET, Shaping our Future. The Strategy explicitly acknowledges that among the drivers for greater investment in vocational education and training ...is the growing significance of knowledge and the ability to handle new literacy demands.
