This classification is made available in electronic format to assist those organisations providing data compliant with AVETMISS. The ASCO (occupation type) Identifier uniquely identifies the type of occupation that may be expected for those undertaking a program of study. This information is used to profile VET delivery at state and national levels. The classification is based on the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO), Second Edition (ABS Catalogue No. 1220.0, July 1997).
