NCVER appoints new general manager

1 November 2006

Sandra Pattison has been appointed as General Manager at the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).

Sandra, formerly the Manager, Surveys at NCVER has taken responsibility for the company's national statistical collection and analysis program.

As the Manager, Surveys, Sandra managed the national survey program, which includes the annual Student Outcomes Survey and the Employer's Use and Views of the Vocational Education and Training System.

Sandra has a Masters in Statistics and a background in statistical consulting, teaching, quality improvement, and data collection and reporting. She has been with NCVER for 12 years using her knowledge and expertise in the collection and reporting of VET statistics and research.

Previously, Sandra was employed with the University of Adelaide, Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA), and the Waite Agricultural Research Institute.

Sandra said that she is excited about her new role.

'The information that NCVER produces plays a vital role in improving VET policy and practice, but it is critical that it is available and accessible to organisations and users,' says Sandra.

'It needs to be accurate, distilled and tailored to users'needs. I look forward to building on NCVER's strong position of producing and disseminating this information.'
