NCVER's popular research messages now available

22 January 2007

The latest edition of popular Research messages publication is now available. The annual publication compiles the key messages from all 29 research reports published in 2006 by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).

'NCVER completed a varied selection of research work last year and this publication provides a snapshot for users in one, easy-to-use reference,' says Dr Tom Karmel, Managing Director, NCVER.

The publication includes work done by NCVER researchers, as well as work commissioned by NCVER through the competitive grants program funded by the state, territory and Australian governments.

Each of the 29 key message summaries is grouped under one of the five themes—industry and employers, students and individuals, teaching and learning, the VET system, and VET in context.

Among the topics covered are:

  • skills shortages
  • careers and pathways
  • student achievements and outcomes
  • literacy and numeracy
  • regional issues.

Each summary in the Research messages 2006 provides a direct link to the corresponding report.
