Research messages from 2007 at your finger tips

28 March 2008

Understanding key trends from the latest vocational education and training (VET) sector research couldn't be easier with the release of the new edition of 'Research messages'.

Produced by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), Research messages 2007 brings together the key messages from all research reports and conference papers published last year with a concise overview that highlights the lessons learned from this work.

'NCVER's Research messages is an accessible publication that continues to be one of our most popular,' says Dr Tom Karmel, Managing Director, NCVER.

'NCVER completed and published a wide selection of research work and the publication includes work authored by NCVER staff and commissioned researchers'

Each of the report summaries is grouped under one of five themes—industry and employers, students and individuals, teaching and learning, the VET system, and VET in context.

Among the topics covered are:

  • skill shortages
  • career pathways
  • literacy and numeracy
  • learner groups, including work on Indigenous people, young and older workers, and prisoners
  • VET workforce.

Each summary provides a direct link to the corresponding report or conference paper.
