The deadline for the call for papers and New Researcher Award submissions for 'No Frills' 2008 has been extended to Monday 28 April. The conference focuses on strategies, observations and proven practices that can influence policy and practice in the VET system. We also invite experienced researchers to share their insights at workshops to promote the development of future VET researchers.
This publication provides a brief overview of migration, with an emphasis on the contribution migration has made to the workforce. It shows that Australia has been using targeted migration programs to expand and enhance the skills base of its workforce for some time.
NCVER has been identified as an Australian 'innovation' in vocational education and training (VET) for a study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). An OECD team led by Education Analyst, Dr Tracey Burns, visited NCVER for two days to get a better understanding of NCVER's role in VET research and statistics. The visit was part of a major OECD project to explore systemic innovation in VET systems around the world.
