About our research

Introduction

NCVER conducts and manages research into Australia's vocational education and training (VET) sector. The aim of the research is to ultimately contribute to an improvement in VET policy or practice. Some research is undertaken by NCVER on a commercial basis.

National VET Research and Evaluation (NVETRE) program

NCVER, on behalf of the Australian Government and state and territory governments, co-ordinates and manages the National Vocational Education and Training Research and Evaluation (NVETRE) program.

The NVETRE program provides funding annually for VET research and commissions research based upon the research priorities agreed to by the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment.

NCVER is not eligible for competitive research funds under the NVETRE program.
