The Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS) provides a national framework for the consistent collection and dissemination of vocational education and training (VET) information throughout Australia. AVETMISS applies to the apprentice and trainee collection which provides information on all persons employed under a training contract and includes both apprentices and trainees. Two releases of the AVETMISS apprentice and trainee collection specifications are below. Release 6.0 applies from July 1, 2008 and supersedes the Statistical standard for new apprentices - Release 5.0 from that point on.
