This report examines the effects of working part-time on Australian high school students. It looks at the types of jobs students are likely to be employed in to examine the influence of this employment. It assesses the consequences of employment in terms of the opinions of students and on the effects over a number of years in relation to completing Year 12, academic achievement, and the labour market outcomes in initial post-school years. Research report no. 9 This report, published by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER), is part of the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth (LSAY) research program.
