Purpose

This program funded research in adult literacy and numeracy and was linked to the overall strategy for VET, Shaping our Future. The Strategy explicitly acknowledges that among the drivers for greater investment in VET is ... the growing significance of knowledge and the ability to handle new literacy demands.

Research activities

Research topics ranged from adult literacy teaching and learning approaches and outcomes, to the professional development needs of literacy practitioners. Topics also covered various literacy practices and delivery approaches across Indigenous and ethnic communities, industry, volunteer and community settings.
