Purpose
The aims of this study are:
To review the management and business literature on innovation and develop a framework for application to VET providers. This framework will focus on:
* Organisational motivation to innovate
* Use of resources
* Management practices and systems that promote innovation
* To undertake case studies of VET providers who are being innovative and to document their practices in terms of the above framework.

1. What are the factors that motivate an organisation to innovate?
2. How are resources used when innovation takes place - how much time is needed, what is the role of knowledge and skills of the workforce as well as to groups such as government, industry bodies and scientific community?
3. What range of management prctices and systems support innovation
Case Studies
1. How are VET providers using these ideas to promote innovation?
2. What other strategies have the potential to further create innovative VET organisations
Methodology
* Literature review
* Case Studies of 3 registered training organisations in Queensland and Victoria.
Organisations
Victor Callan is a highly published researcher and very experienced writer and consultant. His areas of research expertise include organisational change, leadership/management capabilities, learning and innovation and partnerships. Victor is Professor of Management at the University of Queensland Business School, which he headed for 7 years. He has a BA (hons) from the University of NSW and a PhD from the Australian National University.
