Recently, vocational education and training (VET) programs have been introduced into senior secondary schools, increasing the focus on workplace experience and workplace learning. This research is focused on the progress of several groups of young Australians as they move from school into post-secondary education and/or work. The report also looks at the experiences of early school leavers from the USA and Australia in the first two years after completing secondary school. Similarities and differences are analysed and differences commented on.
