Privacy and Data Protection Officer


The National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER) is a not-for-profit Company, owned by the Commonwealth and state and territory ministers responsible for vocational education and training (VET).

Position Details

NCVER is the data custodian of all national VET data, by way of its collection, storage, analysis, disclosure and authorised release. This role operates company-wide to deal with challenges and responsibilities at the intersection of privacy, technology and data-security.

The Privacy and Data Protection Officer will report to the Manager, Finance and Risk and will work closely with the National Manager, Statistics and Analytics and Manager, IT Strategy and Services and their respective teams.  The role requires expertise in framing, advising and supporting implementation of whole of company practices on the general operation of the Privacy Act, all related VET specific legislation and VET policy, the objective being to further improve NCVER’s privacy practise and minimise risk.

Appointment Details

  • This is a full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) 2 year fixed term role based in Adelaide.
  • Generous working conditions and salary sacrifice options available.
  • The salary range for this role will be $97,000 - $120,000 commensurate with skills and experience.
  • 12% superannuation is payable in addition to salary.
