The Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS) is a national standard for collecting and reporting vocational education and training (VET) data. It is reviewed regularly to keep pace with the changing needs of the VET sector.
Feedback from registered training organisations (RTOs) and student management system (SMS) vendors has contributed to a new release of the Standard, release 8.0, which will apply to all training activity from 1 January 2018.
The documents on this page provide information on the changes between release 7.0 and release 8.0. RTOs and SMS vendors should refer to these to ensure their systems and processes are ready for the first collection under the new release.
The changes affect the AVETMISS VET Provider Collection specifications, the AVETMISS data element definitions, and the AVETMISS Validation Software business rules.
