This is a summary of a research program undertaken for NCVER by the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research between 2011 and 2014. The body of work, comprising six projects, focuses on the impact of education and training on social inclusion and labour market outcomes for disadvantaged learners. Here, 'disadvantaged' is used to encapsulate those from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, individuals with a disability, those from non-English speaking backgrounds and Indigenous Australians.
