Student Outcomes Survey: self-reported graduate model review

By Ben Sanders Technical paper 1 March 2018 978 1 925717 13 6

Description

Respondents to the National Student Outcomes Survey include a number of students who were surveyed as subject completers but self-identify as graduates. These students are classified into a group based on a logistic model that predicts the eligibility of a student being a graduate, based on their personal and training characteristics. This paper has been written to review this model and establish whether its use is still valid and appropriate. The key finding from the analysis was that the model is no longer required to determine the group status of these self-reported graduates. A number of alternative options were considered and investigated to determine the best method for future classification.
