This time series presents a summary of training activity in government-funded vocational education and training (VET) in Australia for the period 1981-2024. A timeline of major policy changes affecting VET in Australia from the mid-1970s to the present is provided to give the summary information context. The data tables which follow present student numbers by selected training characteristics for the full period 1981-2024. For the period 1996-2024, a more detailed breakdown of the data is provided, with student, subject enrolment, program enrolment, and program completion figures presented by selected training characteristics.
