This submission is a review of research literature in Australia since 1990. It focuses on the following seven issues: strengthening demand, information, intermediaries, increasing responsiveness of supply, funding of training, TAFE in a competitive training market, and regulation.
Examines the various processes used by TAFE institutions, State training authorities, group training companies, and employers to ensure that apprentices and trainees who have had their contracts of training suspended complete their qualifications.
The study assesses employers' perceptions of industry training advisory bodies (ITABs), including their awareness and opinions of their functions and activities. It also provides a better understanding of how ITABs operate.
