Description
In this phone interview, Roger Harris and Michele Simons talk about how leaders in private providers juggle the educational and business imperatives of their organisation. Based on interviews with staff from private providers they find that leadership is shaped by the structures and cultures of the organisation in which it is located, including the state of the business and its competitive position with other providers. Overall, respondents would like to see a shift to a more integrated form of leadership where the business and educational outcomes are seen as related, not competing, features.
